Guidance regarding the re-use and environmentally sound disposal of TXO Optical Transceivers

TXO’s optical transceivers have a lifetime of anything up to 15 years. Therefore where possible they should be re-used where they remain functional. To support this TXO places no restrictions on the customer who is free to re-sell, loan, or give away freely to another party our products after use.

In some cases TXO will also recode transceivers in order to extend their lifespan. Fees apply for this service and restrictions apply.

Where the product has reached the end of its useful life please note that optical transceivers from TXO should be considered to be Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).  As such this material is subject to separate collection and treatment in EU member states and also in Norway and Switzerland. For this reason TXO’s product is marked with the crossed out wheelie bin symbol. The treatment applied at end of life of TXO’s products in these countries shall comply with the applicable national laws of countries observing Directive 2002/96EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment.

By following this guidance, TXO and it’s clients contribute to efforts to reduce waste and environmental impact, improve resource efficiency and support the growth of the ‘circular economy‘.
