Telecoms Testing Lab

They key to the success of our optics division has been the development of our telecoms testing lab. Our 5,000 sq. ft. / 500m² ESD test lab facility is equipped with a wide range of hardware devices used by telcos and encompasses the full range of telecoms domains including IP routing and switching both core and edge, optical transmission using SDH, DWDM, OTN, and access equipment for GPON and data centres. Support is multi-vendor and includes Nokia, Alcatel, Ericsson, Huawei, Marconi, Arista, Juniper, HP and Cisco and so on.

Compatibility testing

A key step in our testing process is being able to replicate the clients’ use case by using the exact same equipment that’s in their network, in our testing lab. Our clients can have confidence that their optics has been tested for compatibility within the right device before shipment. Learn more about compatibility testing here.

 

Functionality testing

Functionality testing is where the optical parameters of the optic are tested. The transceiver is tested to check that the output power of the laser and the receiver sensitivity is as per the specification presented in the data sheet. Learn more about functionality testing here.

 

Distance / Reach verification

TXO Optics verifies that the transceiver will meet the required distance in two ways. The first is to measure the optical power of the laser and sensitivity of the receiver to ensure they meet specified parameters to deliver the distance. Secondly, we use fibre spools of carious lengths to fully prove that the transceiver can function and the stated distance. Learn more about distance / reach verification here.
